Hanover Co-op Food Store
Housemade Smoked Chicken Thighs

One of the folks on our marketing team isn't a fan of chicken, unless it's one of the chicken dishes made by Jeff Withington, a long-term employee at the Co-op and a guru of fine meats and how to prepare them. Jeff's latest creation is another gem that would win over anyone, with a bold flavor that doesn't overpower the natural flavor of the meat.

Made with the wonder that is Smart Chicken—humanely raised, air-chilled to preserve flavor and juiciness, with no artificial gunk ever.
Recommended by Debi Dean, a hard-working supervisor in the fast-paced Front End of our Hanover store.

WHAT DEBI SAYS:
"It's so tasty and flavorful. Smokey but not too smoky. Full of protein and the smart chicken. Yummy."

“Tony's

Tony's Chocolonely
70% Extra Dark Chocolate Bar

Cocoa is a delicate crop. Farmers must be highly skilled and experienced to cultivate it. But for all the work and effort, most cocoa farmers around the world see very little reward from a highly profitable international cocoa trade. Conditions are even worse for children, with thousands working as slave laborers on cocoa plantations, often trafficked across borders.

Our friends at Tony's envision 100% exploitation-free chocolate, not just at their company, but all over the world.
Recommended by Scott Lauziere, one of our customer-service experts at the Consumer Relations Center in our Lebanon store.

WHAT SCOTT SAYS:
"Tastes great! Contains Fair Trade cocoa and sugar. Tony's Sourcing Principles show how chocolate can be exploitation-free but still be commercially successful."

“Weird

Weird Window Brewing Co. (South Burlington, VT)
A is for Alice New England IPA

Our friends and owners of Weird Window named A is for Alice after their happy, curious, and playful daughter. This New England IPA is brewed with a hop blend of Ahtanum, El Dorado, HBC 638, and Idaho 7, for all the hop punch you expect that complements a light, easy-drinking citrusy flavor profile. If you've been sipping stouts and porters all winter waiting for the perfect NIPA to open the spring season with, this is a beauty.

We love that a portion of the proceeds from this beer will go to the Pink Boots Society, which supports and encourages women and non-binary individuals in the fermented and alcoholic beverage industry.

“Shady

Shady Lane Cellars
Franc n' Franc

Shady Lane Cellars is an innovative boutique winery in the mineral-rich soils of the picturesque Leelanau Peninsula in Northern Michigan. Their handcrafted wines are made in small batches from grapes grown on sustainably farmed vineyards, carefully tended with love and expertise. The result is a grape of exceptional quality, which is transformed into distinctive wine.

The Franc n' Franc is a red blend of 43% Cabernet Franc, 43% Blaufränkisch, and 14% Merlot. These varieties complement each other seamlessly, creating a rich, expressive red that has acidity and structure and that makes for a fantastic food pairing wine.

Recommended by Sam Clifton in our Hanover store Beverage Department, one of our most knowledgeable go-to wine experts.
